Ruby and Jente certainly got to know each better during my stay in Amsterdam. As Marcella wrote on Jente's website--it was a love-hate relationship. While they are still a tad too young to actively play together a lot, they did enjoy sitting side by side to draw.

Otherwise, however, there were many tears: when Ruby would hit Jente, or when Jente would dare take one of the toys Ruby was playing with and so forth. I did, on a rare moment, see Ruby bring Jente her "ijsbeer" (the Dutch word for polar bear, even though the soft toy in question is a pig) though.

But, the defining of boundaries notwithstanding (something many an adult still struggles with no?!), I do think they enjoyed each others company overall--it was a great sight seeing that funny twosome toddle towards the door leading outside, or running towards the bikes together. And I already can't wait to see how they get along next time they meet, inevitably older, and who knows...wiser?!
