Another picture from my trustworthy (because I always have my phone with me, unlike my camera) phone. Just a superbe scenic shot from a tiny pebble beach somewhere in Maine (Jen?!), where we spent a few minutes relaxing.

When we got in the car on Thursday on the first leg of our trip, Ruby was convinced we were going to the beach. After all, all car rides recently for her have been with her papa David to go to the beach. Reasonable assumption. Our efforts to get her excited about seeing Ana Lucia and Marie didn't impress her and even after four hours in the car and many many traffic jams further, she was still asking if we were going to the beach. After six hours she started talking about sand castles. We simply couldn't deny her a stop at whatever beach we drove past after that, although on day two she stopped asking for the beach whenever we strapped her into the car seat.
