We had a few wonderful visits today. This afternoon Lucy came by with her son Lucas and daughter Anoura. Lucy and Anoura posed next to Ruby's bed, which used to be Anoura's bed--one and a half years ago already! We're grateful for the loan, as it makes taking care of Ruby easier in the middle of the night.

Then, this evening, Clare & Ansar came over for dinner--a delicious dinner that they brought with them! We had homemade chili, cornbread and potatoe and beet salad. Thanks Chef Ansar!

The other picture is of Ruby in her playpen, which I installed in the living room yesterday. She wasn't that interested in spending any time in there yesterday, but this afternoon she was willing and spent a good 15mins staring at the mobile. Given the attention span of newborns, that's a record! Her sight has improved markedly in the last few days and she is also suddenly much more interested in her surroundings and wanting to be actively awake for slightly longer stretches.

Her other development is in her body weight/size. She came in at 8.10lb when Joan weighed her on Tuesday, which means she has gained more than 2lb in 6 weeks. The suit she is wearing in the picture above is almost too small for her. If it wasn't one of those body suits her feet would be sticking out.
