Ruby has more visitors from outside the U.S.--this time from Toronto. Karine and Matias took an all-night bus trip to get here, but especially Matias was so anxious to see Ruby, that they thought it was worth the long trip. Matias brought Ruby all his toys that he doesn't need anymore and he has been busy ever since he got here giving her instructions on how to use them. He also gave Ruby some walking lessons yesterday--when he wasn't busy giving her a big kiss.
On their first day here we went to Battery Park to see Lady Liberty (Matias' choice), Ground Zero (something to do while Matias slept, as he unconveniently fell asleep just as we walked into Battery Park), and wandered through the West Village, only to end up at one of my favorite restaurants for an early dinner, Florent.
Today Karine and Matias are out and about on their own, visiting primarily the Bronx Zoo. Ruby got to see so much yesterday that she needed a rest day today (and so does her mama!).
Finally, on a sad note, David left for Massachusetts yesterday for an emergency visit with his mom, Pat, who is in the hospital. We are all anxiously awaiting a diagnosis and will keep you all posted.
