Yesterday afternoon we hooked up with our wonderful friend, Roberta. Roberta has lived and been an active community member of the lower east side (of Manhattan) for many many years. So we got an amazing tour of the many community gardens in that neighborhood. Some quirky and messy (see weird structure above) and others with botanic garden like qualities. One had a sandbox with toys for Ruby to play in. We ended up in Tompkins Square park where Ruby and Roberta had fun with the bucket swing.

Before we left to see Roberta we spent some time rearranging our bedroom. The mattresses are now on the floor so Ruby can roll to her hearts delight now and we only have to worry about a short fall to the floor. Surprisingly the room is much cozier. I'll take a pic soon.

Today, once Ruby awakes from her morning nap, we're off to breakfast and then the beach. Ah, the joys of summer.
