Sorry for the lack of pictures lately. Ruby has been sleeping terribly poorly and so I'm just beat. Last night was the worst night ever--she woke up every 45mins until 11pm and then she was done for the night...about 7 hours before I was wanting to be done with the night!
Granted, poor babe has a snivel and so that didn't help. And this morning I discovered purely by accident (while swinging her by her legs upside down, to her delight, so she had her mouth open in a big wide grin) that she has a top right tooth coming through, so that explains much of this past week.
And I guess the upside of being so exhausted is that when Ruby finally fell asleep again at 2am I had no problem sleeping sitting up for over an hour.
So, the picture above: yesterday my wonderful friends Mary & John visited from Lynn (outside of Boston) with their amazingly energetic and funny little girls, Marie (in picture) and Anna. I did take more pictures and would have posted one with Anna too, but I'm a tad disorganized (my camera battery died on me while downloading the pictures). A picture of Anna will follow!
We had a great time, my grumpiness (boy, don't I get to blame everything on sleep deprivation?!) notwithstanding. John is a yard sale addict, so we popped by one at a church first. Then a necessary stop at a playground for the kids and finally we walked through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, where we also had lunch. And they left us two huge boxes full of clothes and a few teething toys which we put to good use right away!

hey, great to see you guys! especially looking fit and happy. can't wait for the promised photos... and what do you think of this wonderful grandchild of ours, let alone her wonderful, tired parents?
please give our love to noel and marylou - i would have sworn that i saw noel the other day, on a street corner in monpazier... until he turned his head. so maybe this is a sign that you guys should be coming this way again?
lots of love, also from ian, m.
