Yesterday we celebrated Varda's mom arrival in the building. Bob&Varda are our super-special-awesome neighbors one floor below us and Varda's dad, Jacques lives on the first floor almost year-round. Josepha, Varda's mom, lives primarily in Dakar, but joins Jacques on summers here in muggy Brooklyn. She hadn't yet met Ruby and couldn't wait to serve Ruby some champagne (courtesy of Bobbie) and some amuses gueles. Ruby also got to practice her pulling herself up skills and was fanned by Josepha and Varda (who was using the money kindly given to us by Josepha and Jacques for Ruby's saving account).
