Ruby, being a healthy newborn baby, sleeps a lot. I've documented some of her varied sleeping positions. Check out our zen-like little sleeping Ruby. And check out also the awesome sheepskin that my folks bought for us from my native New Zealand. Warm and cozy.

She's generally a good sleeper, although she does struggle sometimes to let herself go and then needs some extra help to stay asleep. The sling always does the trick though--put her in, give her a pinkie to nibble on and she's gone--and we're using it indiscriminately as long as it lasts. I'm getting slightly better at eating with my left hand while Ruby is using my right hand as her special pacifier.

Pratt/Niemeijer/Hyland household all quiet today, as my folks have left to go visit David's family in Central Massachusetts and our friends Mary & John in Boston. Sadly enough that means we have to cook again and Ruby has lost all the special attention my mom was lavishing on her. But they'll be back next Wednesday!
