Our friend Jen--previously a labor and anti-war activist and now increasingly a farmer!--was in town this weekend, so we headed out to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Miss Jenny, as Ruby insisted on calling her, and Ruby chased each other through the native forest and hid behind trees to scare David and I. They hung out in a big tree and Ruby decided we should all just move in permanently. And they found a huge pile of leaves to play in.

Poor guys who raked all those leaves together : they can start again ! Though they would probably have joined Jen and Ruby to play in it as well - I would have ! BUT I curse the chickens when they "unscratch" one of my carefully raked piles of leaves... and forgive them when they produce a yummy, no anti-biotic and other muck - egg!
