Today was a huge day for our babe. She got up to presents (oh my gosh--the handmade wash cloths made by Mamie were the most special although Ruby really digs her new bike), we then rushed to school for the first time ever, picked up her amazing cake made by Joyce (the owner of Joyce Bakeshop) afterwards, then lunch and a quick skype with Mamie and Papie, then doc visit, buying new shoes, playground and finally, finally, home for cake, more presents and dinner. She was asleep by 7.30pm!

Our baby girl is 3. She's here, two feet planted firmly in our life and in her community. She knows enough of herself to trust and be confident and independent. And she loves being out in the world, talking to whoever will listen and boy, do they listen. She soaks it all in, everyday, and wants more. She is also struggling with the predictable toddlerhood issues, like processing her feelings and expressing them clearly with words. And figuring out relationships; pushing them away is one obvious method and she's been stretching that to the limits with some of her toddler friends. But she's here, two feet planted firmly in her life. And we get to be there for her, and watch her bloom like the little gem that she is.
