On Sunday we finally made our first trek of the year out to Fire Island--our favorite beach ever. Our friends Fred and Kasia from Toronto were in town, so we took them along. Even though the temps weren't quite there yet, we had a nice time eating a ton of food--Ruby devoured green beans and french fries, the latter to be consumed in the sun tent of course--playing in the sand and going for a few walks. She even did well on the lengthy car rides there and back, although on the way back she repeatedly requested "I want drive" and just didn't understand why we wouldn't give her the wheel.
