We spend a lot of time at the Underhill playground. It's about three minutes from our house. It's brand new. The head parks department worker there, John, is awesome. Every time he sees Ruby he says "your smile just made my day." We meet up with Michelle, Millie and Posie. Ruby walks off with other kids strollers, or eats other kids snacks and they do the same with our stuff. It's where Ruby practices to walk down and up steps with her stroller.
So it was a no-brainer for me to volunteer for face-painting duty last Saturday for the It's My Park! Day celebration at our playground. But because I've never done face-painting before and because I'm not known for having any creative/artistic streak in me, I came up with three easy designs to paint and the kids had to choose from that (and not from the book with all kinds of wild designs like ghouls, or elaborate tigers and so forth). The rainbow and the star were most popular. I loved seeing a ton of kids run around with bright red and black stars on their cheeks.
