Boy, the rollercoaster ride ain't over yet. My turn to get sick; coughing my lungs out, stuffy head and generally just feeling lousy. But Ruby must have sensed that I desperately needed some extra sleep and kindly went back to just waking up twice a night for a snack. Phew--merci ma petite flot!

Otherwise life, of course, goes on. Last Friday we hung out with Bob&Varda and their friends who are visiting from Bretagne. Tonight David and Ruby played on the couch, with Two looking on.

New Ruby stuff:

* She sucks her thumb in all seriousness. And I mean all seriousness.

* We're trying to develop different sleeping habits. I no longer nurse her to sleep; as soon as she gets drowsy while nursing I put her in her bed and sing, play the music box, give her my finger or a pacifier to nibble on and we work at the whole closing your eyes thing. It's working, mostly. David has tried to put her to bed at night, but she still demands me, so that's our next step, soon.

During the day she now sleeps almost exclusively in the hammock and it takes less and less rocking to get her asleep. She'll play with a pacifier, switching it from hand to hand and waving it through the air, chatting the whole time to no one in particular and then suddenly she goes quiet and is gone.

Beterschap Marsha! Twee keer per nacht voede(hier ook trouwens + soms 4 keer terug voor speen) is toch nog doodvermoeiend, vind je niet?
