I've expanded my Ruby carrying techniques. When she wakes up in her "sleeping" sling (the green one, which will soon to be too small for our growing baby) I pop Ruby's head out and she can slowly wake up while I'm still "wearing" her.

However, now that Ruby is wanting to be in the world more and more, I bought a bigger sling and have started experimenting with different ways of wearing her. This sling is basically one hugely long piece of elastic cloth. It's totally fun to play with and no complaints from Ruby so far!

Besides being increasingly alert and tuned into her environment, Ruby also is better at spending some time amusing herself. We can leave her on her comfy sheepskin under the baby gym for 30mins or more at a time and she'll happily coo while sucking her fist and staring at the toys. She's also mastering her boxing technique and is getting better at whacking them.
