Today we celebrated David's birthday (officially tomorrow). Happy birthday to David!!!

It was a gorgeous day, so as soon as our Sunday morning loads of laundry were done, we headed out to the Brookln Botanic Garden (or as Ruby calls it, the botantical garden). Ruby ran, picked a few flowers (shh...), we marveled at the few early blooming cherry trees, and the magnolias that are just gorgous, ate pizza at the cafe and she had her usual BBG treat, a flower-shaped pollipop. We walked back via Prospect Park (and stopped for her to ride on the carousel, which opened this weekend) which was overflowing with dazed Brooklynites emerging from their apartments after a long winter.

At home we ate delicious cake, and opened a few presents. Ruby was wearing one, as you see above. She has been excited about wearing it for weeks! And I immediately installed (after some serious sweating and a little cursing, because geez, drilling holes through a cabinet shelf is harder than expected, but, this gal did it!) David's new kitchen radio.

David loves his kitchen. He wants music while he cooks (and he does all the cooking, gotta love the guy!), and he wants to sit at the fire escape and look at his plants and the christmas lights and read, with a glass of wine in hand. I have now fixed the two things that stopped him doing that: the new radio (he had an old boombox up on the fridge, but it was hard to reach, huge and such bad quality sound), and I blacked out the windows shining into our bedroom so he can turn on the kitchen lights in the evening without worrying about waking up Ruby.

He is very happy now. I love you babe.
