Cousin Blake is spending the weekend with us. He traveled into town on his own on a Greyhound bus, and David and Ruby met him at the bus station.

Yesterday David had to work, and it was a wet wet day, so we putzed around the neighborhood. Breakfast at the Usual, Blake cashed in some small lottery ticket he won, we dropped off a huge bag of hand-me down clothes with the owners of our favorite coffee shop, Joyce's, and spent a lot of time at the playground.

Needless to say, Ruby is beside herself with joy that Blake is here. She also demonstrated that she gets her family connections. When I told her that Blake was arriving, she got all excited and then stopped long enough to ask, "what about Ellaina?" (her other cousin, Blake's sister).
