So we finally got some snow. Not what we normally get, which is usually about two to three serious snow storms that take a week to clean up. But it was cold enough that the few inches of snow did stay on the ground for a few hours, until it started raining that is.
Ruby was mildly interested. She gingerly brushed snow off the fence in front of our house and would stare at the white stuff on her finger. She also spent some time picking up snow and transferring it to another carefully chosen spot in front of a corner store (known as a "bodega," the Spanish word for warehouse or convenience store). The fact that it melted immediately on arrival on the warmer covered sidewalk didn't seem to bother her in the slightest and she continued this game until her fingers got too cold and she asked me to hold them to warm them up.
The funniest part was putting on her snow boots for the first time. She stood up, took one step towards me and then fell into my arms. But she figured out quite quickly how to walk with them, which shows how comfortable she is walking now.

Hilarious those boots ! And then to think that we are baking with 16-17 degrees Celsius temperatures, blue skies, sun and flowering daffodils!
Big hugs + love, M.
