Ruby had her first wintery snow experience on Sunday. When she woke up and David held her up so she could look outside, she said "ohhhhh." Other than she was pretty non-plussed, although she seemed to register that normally all that white stuff isn't on the ground.

I wanted to mention a few cute things Ruby does these days:

* Ruby is into sitting down. She'll back up towards whatever it is that she wants to sit down on, be it me, her pouf, her jip&janneke chair or whatever else.

* She finally cuddles! That thrills me more than some of her other developmental milestones. She'll lie down with her head on my chest, and kick with her legs while enjoying some quiet time.

* Her signing has exploded. It seems like almost every week that she adds a new sign to her repertoire. Last week she started signing "cheese"--even though she doesn't really like cheese. Now she'll wake up in the middle of the night and sign eat, instead of quietly crying.

* When she hears her favorite songs, she starts stamping her feet. Her favorite song right now is the "Taxi" song, by the Music for Aardvarks crew.

* Marie has an amazing ear for Ruby's words. She keeps on interpreting her little phrases. Ruby says "taxi" (sounds like "tasi"). This morning I finally understood what "lesglo" (add in some tongue-clicking here and there) means: "let's go."

Thanks : I also enjoyed the Taxi song and I enjoyed the video in the snow even more! Fantastic how Ruby seemed totally preoccupied with it and I giggled along with her joy of seeing Papa David being silly!
