Back to a traditional picture posting. Ruby is eating more and more solids, mostly with gusto. In the morning she usually happily eats some fruit, her preference being pears so far. In the evening I try to fill her up with extra breastmilk and some cereal, in the hopes that she'll stay asleep longer (generally it doesn't seem to make a difference).
Figuring out what she likes, and how she likes it (warm, cold, thinned with water or breastmilk, finely pureed or not) is hit and miss. I didn't think she liked my homemade carrot puree, but turns out she likes carrots from a store-bought pot, so it must be a consistency issue?!
The second picture is just to show that like any modern baby Ruby is fascinated by our laptops. She also will zoom in (with as goal to chew) on the remote controls, and the phones. Obviously objects she sees us using all the time.
Finally, our wonderful friend Jen babysat for us last Sunday while David and I checked out a new little restaurant that specializes in fondues. Ruby and Jen had a blast. Ruby got to stay up much later than usual; she was a trooper. The restaurant wasn't so great unfortunately, but we enjoyed our few hours out anyways. Thanks Jen!
