Ruby paints and does collages and draws and uses endless amount of tape and picks up everything collectable off the street (she proudly says "my Dad and I collect stuff!"). She loves it. Capital L loves it. Art was probably what she choose to do 80% of the time when she was in school this past year.
So today she was busy, again, painting. And suddenly, for the first time in a while, she switched from loads of colors and just crazy messy blobs of lines everywhere to the above. She says the middle picture is a dog, but she screwed it up a little (note that the orange and blue circles at the top are rubberbands she picked up off the sidewalk somewhere, which she taped on). I haven't asked yet what the bottom picture is, but she decided that it needed to be hung up on the wall in Jaya's room.
I immediately took pictures of them and sent them off to be printed out as postcards. The middle picture we'll send to her teacher Reid, who promised that he would send a card back to any child from MDS who sends him a card--after he finishes his exciting Appalachian Trail hike that he's also blogging about!
