I am definitely a geek at heart. As soon as the University of Amsterdam offered email addresses I bought a cheap modem for my ancient 3.0 windows pc and I was hooked up to the internet! That was back in 1992 or so. My next big move was to buy a portable device, a palm address book and calendar, around 1999. I was a tad slow getting on the cellphone track, mostly because I didn't have the right legal status to sign up for one here in the U.S. But it didn't take me long to go from a standard cellphone to a smartphone so I could intergrate the phone with the palm.
Fast forward to today: I have an iphone and a netbook. I love them both and use them quite extensively to help me stay organized, but also for fun. Our household is also pretty wired. Ruby's hand-me down mac from Varda is connected via cable to our router. David, who has my old mac laptop, and I use the wireless.
David, for the most part, just wants whatever he has to work properly. And he doesn't want anything fancy or too complicated. Ruby, however, is starting to become quite enamored with my iphone. She has her own "page" with a bunch of games. And while I used to turn off the phone/internet function when she was playing her games, I can't do that anymore because she has discovered you tube. Thankfully she can't browse (yet), but I have bookmarked some of her favorite videos: "I'm a gummi bear" and the Ponyo theme song.

Very funny that she is still into the gummy bear song! I love that. We had a good time singing this with her. Ruby looks wonderful and... she is almost 3!!!
