Yesterday we went to Orchard Beach in the Bronx. David and Ruby have been going there at least once a week lately and I wanted to check out what all the fuss was about.

It's a completely different beach from Fire Island: it's a city beach with a *huge* parking lot, so the beach is packed on weekends (unlike Fire Island which is only accessible via ferry). The upside however is that this beach has lots of little tidal pools, so Ruby can play in shallow warm water for hours. And then she can play some more in the playground next to the beach.

Her latest beach fashion statement is to take one her own towels made by Mamie and wear it like a cape. And here she is wearing a gorgeous white summery dress that Bob & Varda brought back for her from Mexcio (or was it Argentina, we can't remember?!), because it was finally HOT yesterday.
