Last weekend David organized for his musician friend Eddie to come teach kids of all ages how to drum in our community garden.

Turnout was just right for the neighborhood and the noise the drums generated. For the first half Eddie coached kids--I went to get the kids from the building next to ours, Makeyla and Amani, kids Ruby often plays with on the street. After wards, while the kids were running around the garden playing hide and seek and digging up plants (uh hum), Eddie taught David and a few other adults some basic beats. Meanwhile I snapped pictures, supervised the kids (as little as possible) and read.
