Ever since Ruby was born, we've only had to buy the super duper ultra leak proof and filled with butt drying chemicals night time diapers for our babe. Ruby's day time butt? Covered and pampered thanks to Mamie and Papie (who puts in the orders whenever summoned via email). Awesome no?!
For 2.5 years we've changed countless diapers and it's amazing how it just becomes part of what we do, day in, day out. We're pros at this point. We can change a diaper in the weirdest places without a blink and we'll do it fast. Soon getting the kid to lie down was too much of a hassle, so you change them while they're standing up. That's when clothes become annoying while you're trying to keep the kid still and affix the clean diaper back on the butt.
But for the last two weeks Ruby has been peeing on the toilet! Yes indeed. She's a big underwear toting girl and for the most part it's been a non-event. Even with mild excitement about this new milestone, she just seems to think it's the most normal thing in the world and hasn't reacted much to our joyful glee when we put on her undies in the morning. And she hasn't needed any reward system to get her on the loo.
Pooping on the toilet is a whole other issue though. We've been following her cues, so when she's ready for that we'll be totally thrilled, but until then she just asks for a diaper and does her business standing, eyes a-bulging and face all sullen (you know, the poop face).
* PS. Dad? That's a real appeal. We really are almost out of diapers!

Niet te veel luiers inslaan opa! Ik denk nl. dat Ruby binnen een paar weken gewoon op de WC poept. Heel veel kinderen (Jente ook)vinden dat moeilijk in het begin. Ze schijnen soms te denken dat ze worden meegtrokken de WC in:-)
Zorg dat ze zich op haar gemaak voelt en blijf de WC/potje proberen. Je zult zien dat ze binnen 1 of 2 maandjes gewoon op de WC poept.
