I was amazed how casual Ruby was around Lissa's horses on this trip. While Ellaina and Lissa were getting Tim ready, Ruby repeatedly walked right past him, behind him and in front of him to feed him hay. She stuck her finger up his nose. Nothing bad happened though.

She knows to approach dogs with one hand stuck out, slowly. But she knows too many of the dogs in the neighborhood and runs to greet them. And she sees Ellaina crawl under Tim and so she figures she can trust that horse.

For the most part that makes me happy, because she isn't afraid of animals. I just need to keep an extra nervous eye or two on her and keep on repeating, "Don't walk behind the horse babe" until it sinks in. Yikes.
