We're all alive and well and happy. Summer has been so fun. Jaya just called to tell me that Ruby has mastered running through the biggest sprinkler of all. Yeah, that is an important milestone!

But I've also been looking for a new job, urgently, and that's what's mostly kept me busy. So I'll check back in when things have settled down.

And maybe then I'll tell you what happened to my old job--not the "who said what?!" details, but the bigger political questions of what kind of organizations we want and need for movement activists like David and myself and so many of you out there. Maybe then my anger will have dissipated just a tad so that I can speak calmly about how fucking hard it is to do the work so many of us do.
